Stern Gland Question

Hi All
After Some expert Advice on replacing the packing On This stern Gland .
It is leaking around every 15 seconds while sitting at Mooring .
Very hard to get to and looks pretty well stuck on their , any advice would be appreciated .

Simple. If it's leaking that bad and access is an issue, replace it with a dripless seal.

If you don't have the distance between stern log and coupling re pack it
looks like it is done up fully in the pic so needs work anyway as should be thread showing

4 drips a minute isn't too bad, repacking can be done in the water but if access is tight it could be stressful. If you can engineer a grease nipple into the tube close to the gland it will save dripping while berthed

I agree. Drilling and tapping in a thread to take a bronze fitting for a remote grease gun permanently installed would be the easiest and most convenient.
