We are looking to do a haul out to attend to some things on the new yacht. Currently at Tin Can Bay and looking for any first hand experience on places around here to Bundaberg.
For info.. It is a 45ft ketch, draws a bit over 2m and we have already been told by TCB marina that they cannot lift a ketch. So the options as far as we know are:
Tin Can Bay Slipway
Hervey Bay Marina (Fisherman's wharf)
Bundaberg Port Marina
Bundaberg Slipway (associated with TCB Slipway but bigger)

Sort of things we intend on doing or getting done.
Antifoul really just because it is out so might as well.
All through hulls checked and replace any needed
All Seacocks checked and replace any needed.. Will definitely need some done as a couple are weeping a bit.
Stainless Steel weld and increased bracing to davitts
Rigging inspection.
Probably some more

I gave Cisco a hand with getting his boat into the Bundaberg slipway and have assisted with some of the work since. Their prices are very reasonable and the fellas there are helpful, easy going and happy to let people do all of their own work. As it is a slipway with a cradle and not a hoist it doesn't matter how many masts you have. Give them a call and check on prices and availability.

The other thing with being right in Bundy is that you have quick and easy access to trades and suppliers if you need them. The Maryborough slipway may also be worth looking into for similar reasons.

On looking at the river on navionics, it seemed like it became very shallow in spots. Do you know if 2m+ draft would even get down there?
I should also mention we are about as green as they get.

I have a 1.8 m draught, you'll be fine up to 3 hours either side of any high tide. My mooring is right in Bundy and it's about 2 hours from town to Burnett Heads. I try to leave at the top of the high tide so I have the current with me and head back in the heads 3 hours before high to follow it in. The channel is well marked, if you don't have it already make sure you download the Hervey Bay beacon to beacon guide from the Department of Transport.

Once you are in the town reach there's plenty of deep water to anchor in. At 2m draught you'll need higher tides to get up the slipway, give Russell a call on 0417634507 and he will advise what tide you need to aim for.

I lifted my boat with a 2.1 draft last year at HB. The depth datum from memory at the lift was .9

3 hours either side of HW was ample. Gavin (runs the yard) was awesome help and very accommodating. You will have no problems with the actual lift there. He has two lifts one being cable of 200t.
