Can you remove one of the bolts?
Take it to Blackwoods, opposite Newcastle Cruising Yacht Club, they should be able to match it or point you in the right direction.
For your bearings, you could try CBC Bearings. Maitland Rd. Mayfield West, or SKF Bearings. Frieisan Rd Sandgate.

Cant see a thrust bearing in Bukh manual. I guess it is in the gearbox? Or is there an external thrust bearing? If the bolts are rotating they are likely to be a high tensile steel.

all bukh bolts are metric Bunnings have metric bolts for very average use .A
bolt shop would be OK for grade 8
It would help if you could explain thrust bearing and or where this is located please

If any one would like this dv20 complete less alternator and engine mounts pm me its going cheap @ western port less than $300 no gear box included comes with a starter motor

it does have a head gasket problem
run OK on both cylinders and no water in the oil but the head gasket need replacement
It ran OK from port Philip to western port not a problem
close up of the water leak directly under the engine exhaust pipe
the anode plug can be seen on the left

Only found the leak after I removed the motor its in the blind side

Basically I have enough to do with out repairing this motor . If I was rebuilding it Id fit new rings and valve grind before I bought it it had very little use and I think sitting on a mooring not being use would have helped with the head gasket leak
The fly wheel is included just found it easier to manoever and remove from the boat just the front engine mounts have been used for the dv24

Yes the bearing bolts on to the gearbox externally ...once I remove it from prop shaft will have better idea of size etc...and what caused it...I'm hoping they just worked their way loose over time....will have a "rat around" the sump see if I can find something!!

do you mean the gear box coupling that attaches to the prop shaft

At the back of the gear box in this photo there's a coupling are you referring to it as a bearing it connects to the prop shaft reduces vibration
There are a variety of makes and models of couplings and are not made by bukh

Whatever it's called is not the problem...there are 4 bolts which holds this onto the coupling at rear of gearbox...I need the size and type of bolts...my problem is I have no revolution of the prop shaft...after checking transmission oil, engine oil...then morse control/linkages..nipping up nuts etc etc...I turned prop shaft by hand ...this was when I realised this 'whatever' was loose...
so getting back to the question....does anyone know size shape thread etc of these 4 connecting bolts..and where I may purchase ? ? Heading out to mooring now and rat around the sump ..see if they have dropped ??
more info later...thanks everyone for your help so far..much appreciated..
and YES...that is unreal price of the BUKH in photos..! Is that Westernport Victoria..?
cheers all

Sorry, Duke?, we are not clear what you are talking about. Perhaps a photo will clarify. Sounds like it is a flexible coupling, but there are designs with thrust bearings between the engine coupling and the prop shaft. Also not clear if you are saying the motor+gearbox shaft is siezed?

Vyv Cox has some good info on sterngear: https://coxengineering.sharepoint.com/Pages/Sterngear.aspx
