Should be fine. Probably the Triton 24 would be good enough too. John Allsop was an airline pilot that designed these vessels in his spare time. Spade rudder is a little small and looks like it might stall easy but I have never sailed one.

we had a Triton 721 built for us in 1980 by Seahorse Yachts in Seven Hills, Sydney and kept the boat in the family right up until my Dad's passing in 2008. The initial build was VERY dubious, however, once things were ironed out, she was an okay boat. A good compromise with standing headroom etc.

Sailed mostly in Moreton Bay, Dad raced the boat early on, but as the years went by, he cruised singlehanded right up to when he passed away. She was a very simple boat to sail. We/he had her out in some fairly uncomfortable conditions and she brought us home safely.

She had a tendency to 'plant' her bottom , so a sugar scoop was built to alleviate this problem.

I would not say over priced. Look at the work that has been done to it hopefully this would cost very minimal and need very little spent on it for 5 years. Good sails newish motor. Could pay 3000 for a ****ter then 10000 for a motor and 5000 for sails this boat has it all.done ready to use.

It's your money. Lot of money for a small boat in today's climate. Money spent on any boat is not going to add to the value of the vessel when it comes time to move on. It only takes one buyer of course.

Plenty of Triton 24s around for $5 or $6k. Old boats with bolt-on keels not in great demand. Check them bolts.... Stainless steel bolts for keels have some doubters due to possibility of crevice corrosion. Gal or bronze preferred.

I prefer them with that used look to them. I don't polish anything! Washed her down with ALDI patio cleaner the other week and the glare the next day at sea was horrendous.

Id prefer that too ramona over the triton. More boat more options. More work too no doubt but fine if you dont mind that!

Very, very nice. I think she was the Short family boat in the early '70s; as in Short Marine, Short Sails, etc. I think (as Maren, not Maring) she won the Melbourne-Hobart Westcoaster. Possibly built by Jack Savage.

A really nice boat at a really nice price!
