Any ideas on who, how and how much it costs to transport a 14 foot sailing dinghy and beach trolley from Perth to Melbourne

Depends on the dinghy. Some are 11 foot and 50 kilos some are 15 foot and 200 kilos.
I had quotes to move a laser from Sydney to Melbourne by a removalist. They are probably your best place to starts.

Put it up on Truckit, you'll get all sorts of quotes but should give you a rough idea

May be cheapest to send it in a self pack 20 foot container, with the long haul bit by rail, as that's about half the price per kilometer-tonne as trucking it by road. Could work well if it's on a trailer or cradle inside the container, properly tied down / braced against any movement.
