Sad to see another one come to greif. I was looking on Marine trafic and saw a yacht that looks very simmilar to the one wrecked leaving Lakes Enterance and head off into an easterly. It was about 25 nautical miles from the enterance and 10 or so off the coast. a bit before Marlo. Judjing from the AIS track it looked a bit eratic and was not making a straight heading. In fact it was heading towards the coast last I saw. Later when I had a look it didn't show up on Marine traffic so I thought it was back in port or the transponder switched off. It may not be the same Yackt, the pic on Marine traffic looked like a steel Sprey with windows in the transom , I think, and big slabby sides with a lot of freeboard, same colour scheme. I was a bit concerned but thought it might be on a day trip and head back to the enterance.

Your heart surely has to go out to these people, whatever the circumstances.
We all go to sea with optimism and faith in our abilities and the vessel that carries us.
We all make mistakes, I just hope and pray that I don't make a mistake and someday end up like this.

I had a older guy come for a chat the other week, he was going to look at a steel yacht similar to that one, was in Bowen on gumtree, $35,000 for 48 footer ! Bargain hey! Hmmm nope I won't be helping you deliver that any further than the Whitsundays
