Hi guys.
Ive got a ns 27 with a hood seafurl 705. Yesterday arvo as we were hoisting up the genoa i noticed some fraying on the forestay... no racing for us..after re enforcing the mast . I went up for a closer look. Upon inspection of the furler and stay decided that it had to come down. We took the furler and stay down together in one piece.. even took it to shore. Closer inspection today has revealed a very worn top bearing and luff bearing..not to mention the forestay.
Which brings me to a few questions.
Can you still get parts for a hood seafurl 705?
If not. which is looking like its the case..
Can anyone out there recommend a good all round furler for social racing and cruising which is not going to cost an arm and leg.. be able to use my current sails and wheres the best place to get it?
Any advice appreciated.

If more than 5 years old always get a newe forestay with your new furler

Hood are still in Brookvale, if you google them you could start there. When I've been in to get things repaired there are furlers on display, so they'll surely be able to tell you what will work best.
