motor on the back of a heron?

Hi all,

Anyone have any ideas on the best / safest way to put a motor on a heron?

Not sure how much HP I could go to either..... thoughts?

Over the years our family has owned 2 herons, 1 had a covered stern that matched the levels of the side decks and the other didn't the one that didn't we put a 4hp motor on it, it went very well and shouldn't need any more power.
A heron is not a tinny and will never go like one....

Mine has a lip over the stern - which matches the decking..... so not sure how I can get around that... if I can tweek it somehow - might make a reasonable fishing boat on windless days in the Port Phil bay......

i gotta 2hp four stroke honda that pushes my trailer sailer round great. only ways 12 kg and is air cooled so you can warm her up out of the water.If you can find one cheap enough it will be awesome.

Thanks Sleek1 - I'll jump on ebay and keep my eye out for one.

Be good to make use of the no wind days for some fishing!

Forgive me for being a bit old fashioned, but last time I checked, you didn't have to get a license for a dinghy if the HP was under something like 10 HP? Is this right - or do I have to do a course?
