Well Stupid, I would suggest keeping an eye on eBay. I have purchased several sails off eBay and 3 sails from the secondhand sail bloke at St Ives who has an eBay shop. Qld often has people selling sails with local pickup only so you have an advantage.

Presumably your looking for a genoa for the vessel in your avatar. It would help if you mention the size and type, one of the posters here may have a sail laying about to suit.

I think Stupid is looking for a gennaker or asymetrical spinniker, not a genoa.

heya stupey - the cable is called a 'halyard' - the front or leading edge of any sail is called the 'luff' - the back or trailing edge is called the 'leech' and the bottom edge is called the 'foot'. Using the correct marine terminology when referring to a sail boat is essential!

I think stupid is meaning the luff of the sail when he says cable or (fore stay)
any way stupid get some big white rags on that old girl and and have a ball!!!!!

you can make it furling if your boat is fitted with a furler, or if not you can get one for about $2500

cheers James
