Hello, first post here!
Can anyone advise where I can anchor in the Burnett? Safe and simple, hopefully. Draft 1.5 m. Maybe someone has a suitable mooring I could rent?
Needed from mid-late November 2025, intending to haul out late 2025 or early 2026. Info or leads appreciated.
Cheers.

You will not find any moorings for rent in the Burnett River.
Anchorages:-
1. The "duck pond" just inside the mouth of the river. Limited spots but with your draught you should find one. Short row to shore and pub and shopping centre a short walk away.

2. From there to the downsteam side of Port Marina. The further up the further from the shops.

3. You go past the bulk sugar terminal and you will see two "Bum's Bays". Those that anchor there have cars on the shore. Nuff said.

4. The town reach. Plenty of anchorages, public pontoon to tie your dinghy up and the whole city is right there.
Burnett Slipways is located slightly upstream. www.bundabergslipways.com.au/ I recommend them.

There you have it. Cheers.

How is anchoring in the town reach - have seen some older information that there is a lot to get caught on in that area?

Post 2013 floods there were some issues/snags but I am not aware of any at present.
It still might pay to sound where you want to anchor before committing. Avoid lumps.
Close in on the north bank upstream from the moorings I am told is very secure.
