As NSWSAILOR says, drop the mast. With the mast down you can do any other work that will pop up. If you are doing the rer-igging yourself, I would suggest swagged fittings at the top and Norsman fittings at the bottom. A little more expensive but fail safe.
This photo is self explanatory. With a deck stepped mast it is fairly quick and easy to do singlehanded. Just ensure the strop goes under the spreader.
