I have the 900, and a buddy has the 210. He has the sprint tail on his, and I found it real unstable. He had just bought it (off craigslist) and was contemplating putting it back up for sale. Wasn't real happy with the purchase. He has since also purchased the 175 with a different tail, so not sure if he's tried it with the other tail yet. I could see how I'd like it in smaller surf, but it just felt unstable in the waves we were riding. But with a different tail, it might have felt totally different...

I'm loving the 900. From the get go it felt good. My neighbor recently tried it on his sup, and he loved it so much he went out and bought it the next day (he'd been riding the axis 920).

Anybody use the axis 1000 on a prone board in super weak surf? I'm 90 kg, lovvvving the 900, but on really marginal/soft days it is constant pumping to keep it up on foil. I just ordered the 1000 wanting to get into Downwind on a SUP, but thinking/hoping it may fill a gap on the prone as well.

A mate (80kg) has 90 & 100 wings - prone, he's been really happy with the 100 in tiny waves - said he gets more glide / pump on the 100 than the 90.

Hi mate, the 900 is easier to learn on because it's more stable ie, Axis is heavier and Axis wings have more "built in"rudder effect) . But if he is 80kgs +, experienced and is looking for higher performance ( ie, easy turning, great glide and good pump) it's hard to go past the Uni 210.
I think I've discovered that the 210 has a broader usable range (in typical mushy surf) than the 900. The 900 will handle powerful swell better especially with the stab shimed up. ( I'll use the 90 with stab shimed for our full power bar sessions!) the 210 really sits somewhere between the 900 and 1000 wings.
I haven't come across a foil better than the 900 for prone pump and turning ( in a single wing )yet!
They rock!

Hey topple- how are you going about shimming the 90? Just adding a washer at the front screw or....?

Yeh real nice on a prone. Guys are also using the ultra short mast with a smaller back wing to loosen it up.

I think the best thing about the 900, especially for proning (which you need to take off in a more critical section than on a SUP - but this still applies to a SUP as well) is you can keep the nose down on a steeper takeoff. She then swoops in and up and off you go...sometimes at crazy speeds, for me anyway. Pumps real well to.

Doesn't agree with me on a kite though, maybe for a heavier fella? It just has way too much speed...then lift when on a big swell line/wave with a kite...just keeps outrunning the kite (a reo as well, may be better on a single skin or a cloud type kite maybe)..technique involved of course, but I keep my 680 for that kind of thing, just less scary and way more control.
