Not sure I'm a top DW foiler but I use this www.oneoceansportsaustralia.com/paddle-shop/carbon-paddle-elite

More than enough power, super light and cheap.

Some like big blades others like small, they all work and good technique is far more important.

Ono Ava 105 seems to be the most popular intermediate paddle. But i see a lot of the top guys on black project and smaller QB's - having chatted with a few podium level elite guys - they seem almost paddle agnostic (can make anything work, are more focused on pumping once up).

I managed to sneak an order in on the newly released code foils paddle (there's next to no stock in Australia atm) and while it's currently in transit to me eta tomorrow I just sold my downwind board.... ooops ???????So if anyone is desperate for one in Sydney completely brand new and uncut send me a message.

That was the feedback I've been getting from people in the Gorge (Ono Ava and Black Project Surge). I use to race so the tech is easy but I have a 84 high cadence paddle that's dated. Don't know what the availability of the Code will be in the States.

With the modern boards you don't think a large blade is required. Medium to stiff shaft is good. I feel like the paddle doesn't make a huge difference.

i wonder what the main differences are btw the Surge vs. SprintX? Seems like a lot of folks have been using the SprintX over the last 1-2 years, but maybe the surge is better for dw. It also seems to feature a different handle (t handle vs. power handle).
