It was a last minute decision to grab my GoPro today before heading off for my daily exercise time..

It's a shame I didn't check if it was charged because I only got one run out and back before I heard that beep-beep-beep sound as it shut off.

It's the big 2450..

I also have the 1600.. Both are good..

The big 2450 pops up a little sooner and is slightly slower top speed but that suits me fine at my skill level.

Sorry watched it again and noticed it's a 6m, what's it like on the arms?

It's fine on the arms.. When I first used the 6m I was using the second front handle (like my old 4m) and found it very heavy on the back arm but once I realised you need to use the third front handle it's very balanced and I've have all day sessions without the need for a harness.. I'd be lucky to make it out and back once windsurfing without a harness.

btw.. I'm using the 6m in winds from 10-25 knots without a problem..

Nice video. Looks like you popped up on foil without much pumping.....do you find that happens often if you have enough wind? Where is your camera mounted? Do you use the handles described only on the 6 m or would it be the same on smaller S25s? Thanks

Thanks.. and because the 6m has so much grunt it usually pops me into the foil with only one or two pumps.

My camera mount was a mouth-cam.

I'm not sure about the best handle for other sizes but with the 6m it's the third front and second last rear.

Duotone wing leash..... stop the mostly annoying straight lead from flapping around and having it strangle you.

Ha! You got my stack 6 Sessions in now and hooked. Those gybes are really starting to feel within reach now. Was cooked on the 5m today, could really have gone a 4m or windsurfing but it was so gusty I reckon I had more fun on the wind ding. Amazing how much wind range the 5m has though, can make it work in 13 to over 20 knots

Hi David
On your Nash board do have a carry finger hole on the bottom of your board and is it a standard feature.

No it's not standard.. I had my local ding repair shop fit it for me.

I was back down at Green Point today testing my new home-made GoPro mount.

It looked like the wind was coming up with the odd little flicker of white caps but it soon dropped to around ten knots.

I did manage to get up going on my way back in so I was able to check out the camera angle.

Great angle and lovely footage. Really looking forward to trying this when my wing arrives.

I notice that you have foot straps and yet you never seem to use them?
Is that choice or set up?

Is your waist strap a made up thing or did you buy it? There is no mention of them on the web here in UK.

Keep the vids coming please

Hi David
I'm 6 years your senior and been windsurfing for 32 years. Recently converted to the wing foil and have the same set up
as yours except for an Ozone 5meter and Naish 4meter.
love your choice of music. Went to the Sydney Dire straight concert years ago etc. Like you, i'm converted to the wingfoiling.
One of the most magical moments in foiling is being able to carry on a normal conversation with each other while foiling. No noises or other sound ....spiritual.
Thanks to your video, just shows that there's room to teach an old dog some new tricks yet...
Enjoy your foiling and keep posting.

Thanks.. I use the straps sometimes but mostly not.

I'm still very much a beginner at this whole foiling thing.. But loving it and slowly getting there.

My waist leash is by Balin.. They are a local Aussie company that sell world wide. PM me if you can't find them on their site.

We had nothing all morning and then around midday it suddenly gusted up to 20 knots for about 15-20 minutes and then dropped to nothing.. Lucky I was rigged and ready to go..

What did you use to mount the go pro to the wing? Looks like a sticky cloth type?

Great angles

I used a zip tie mount zip tied to a piece of pvc pipe with some of that grippy rubber mesh between the pvc and the wing.. I couldn't find a link to the mount but it's the one in this vid.
