If you keep your BIG foil setup the same but just lengthen the fuse by 10 cm, will it pump significantly better?
yes and no.
everything is technique and being in sync with your gear (time on the water).
I use a 55cm fuselage (freaky short) and have more pump power and am more efficient than ever now. But this is after years of learning. Bing able to work out the groove, cadence and aggression to pump your foil is key. Every foil is different and has a different rhythm.
So, I guess the best thing to do is try it, if you find it works for you and your rhythm, then yes go for it. I think in general as you improve and get efficient you will likely want to go the other way.
If this is your thought process to start or are learning to pump, then I say no. Just use what you have, learn the rhythm, cadence and intensity first otherwise you're just changing out things with no base line. (assuming you are on 2000cm3 area foil or bigger).
