Well.your probably getting the same speed,acceleration and ride length in pic 2 that you were experiencing in pic 1 just way more often ! Although I do like to tow foiling pic 1 conditions as well, The only thing I miss is a good barrel, but that's once in a blue moon over here and packed out anyhow.

Not a big fan of the tow in scene. Way too many dicks on skis over here running through the line up and stuffing it up for everyone one else. I find the foil drive gets me in early enough through the JetSki wake.

We barely see big waves, and for the clean bigger ones as on the picture I have to take a holiday so envy you.I still love supping in the bigger clean stuff, but since wingfoiling i,m completely done with strong wind. I used to be pretty much die hard wavesailor and loved to rip in 40knots finding the biggest lip to hit.
Since wingfoiling I rather go with smaller clean stuff and 15knots. Last week it was sunny, relative warm for the time of year (8C) 40+knots sideshore...and I skipped. Rather would go working and go in later this week when its 15knots, probably close to freezing but clean waisthigh bumps.
Still love to sup in proper waves, but windsurfing feels like such a drag-bucket. unbelievable.

I have to agree with you there hilly, one of our best rivermouth surf spots has been ruined by tow in surfers on jetskis who wouldn't even be there if they had to paddle out. I think tow in is only ok if it's the only activity on the break..like deadman's reef in the Gold Coast , we have a couple down this way like that too,but as soon as anyone is paddling or winging the jetskis should go home.

In WA the Department of Transport marine safety rules say no tow in surfing within 200 metres of any other water activity. That seems reasonable to me. Of course the Marine safety boats are never anywhere near places people tow in surf so that rule will never be enforced.
