Fishdude said:- Yeah, i replaced my loose tolerance brass 6mm plate mount bolts ( which seem very cheap), with a nice quality 8mm Stainless steal bolts.
Then thinking about it, the cheaper smaller brass bolts failing may be the best option when something has to give. At least for those with floating foils.

Are you talking about NP ? There are no M6 Bolts in a NP mast or wing attachments and the bolts are Titanium plated Stainless not brass.

No, maybe I was going off topic, sorry about that.

I was just speaking in general about possible ways to avoid damage to equipment when forces get to breaking point.

If we were to replace good strong mounting bolts, with smaller weaker bolts, they would fail instead of the mast bending or... Kind of like a fuse in a electrical circuit.

This might help you guys who are getting launched , I recently blew the boxes on a prone board and picked up another which had the boxes just a couple of inches further forward. I just couldn't get the mast back far enough and I was getting launched on the take offs . So I came in and put one washer in the front screw on the rear wing (down tilted ). It was amazing what one tiny washer could make. It basically gave less lift letting me snap to my feet easier and it also had more down force like a rear wing on a race car putting more traction on the rear tyres. So it felt heaps better turning with way more grip. This is also handy for those sucky days on a Sup

On the other side of the coin if your foil is slow or hard to rise put a washer in the back screw to "GIve More Lift" (up tilted) check it out below. These washers are supplied with your kit if you ever wondered what they were for

Sorry don't want to be a smart-arse and haven't tried this yet but to get more lift from your rear it needs to push the back of the fuselage down.
I have the NP large on my new naish 6'5" 125l and am loving the performance of the foil surfing.
I am thinking on my next wind wing session i will try the tail wing down tilted as it feels reluctant to fly on my first go rounds

Hi
I am new to all this and have been reading for days. However I can't get it clear what size front foil I should get. I will not likely be surfing but will be cruising with a wind wing of some sort.
I think the medium is the one but want to be sure.
I should add I weigh about 135 lbs and am 73. 9 years of kiting and several years of windsurfing.
Your thoughts please.

Thanks, John

Hi John

Medium for the prone and Large for the Sup , you can always swap them around for super small days on the prone and medium on the Sup on the more chunky days.
