Downwinding can be really good if that's an option for you?

Northerly to NE - Redcliffe we would start up near Scarborough and go to Baxters Jetty Shorncliffe, need outgoing tide. You can finish this run on dead low tide and finish on foil at the jetty still as you can come in through the channel. This run gets sick walls towards the finish when the tide is moving and the wind is good.

South wind (SSE/SE) - Cleveland to wellington point. For best conditions need a higher tide and tide running in ideally. Finishing on foil at wellington point boat ramp is possible on a high tide but the bumps are **** once you go over the reef but you can pump and make it. Otherwise need to paddle in through the channel if less tide.

There's more options including a 45 km run, but these are the easiest runs with regards to entry/exit and fun.

There's also Bongaree (Bribie Island), haven't been but with a southerly wind and outgoing tide you have a similar setup to hood river.

This is my run across the bay, super fun in spots and a little work in others but well worth the effort and time!!
