I've been researching boards and keen on a Smik.
However, I noticed a few brands going shorter with a significant increase in volume.
So I am wondering why such a huge volume increase e.g. Smik for me is 120l but other brands in the same size are 135 to 145 l volume. To me this seems to make a very corky board.
So why increase volume so much- anyone?

I think warwick everyone wants to ride as short as possible so the volumes are not going up so much. More that people are trying to ride the same volume in a smaller package if that makes sense. Volume on the foil doenst affect performance like a surf sup either.

I agree with ScottyMac....don't get too caught up in litres....The mast & wing give you stability & as long as you're a half decent paddler it doesn't matter about the litres but there'll always be a trade-off somewhere....whether it's the glide in or the paddle back out.... but the better you get at flying the less the other things will matter & if it's a brand that knows what they're doing when it comes to making foilboard specific boards then you can't go wrong...But you have to learn to walk before you can fly....
