Just started the sup foil journey first session out got half a dozen waves no problem I all ready kite foil and wind foil and wing I use 90 cm for all of the above but have started on a 71 cm for sup foiling. Just wondering what length mast should I use the 71 just seems a bit short and occasionally breaches would I be better of using the 90 or is it a bit too big.

Beach breaks favor 70 cm or down to 55's to allow riding in waist deep waters.
Reef breaks are in deeper water unless the surf is sub 3' or very low tides.
Adjust for conditions.

you also get the most power with the wing right in the wave, so with a 36"/90cm mast you are pretty high up there. I have used a 24" for sup/surf, now a 28", I think that's optimal.

I've been using same rig for wing foiling, the extra few inches sure are nicer for avoiding breaches in chop. I think I will try my 36" kite foil set up for that too.

Depends what your foiling for, I foil in smaller surf (when I cant sup) so the waves break in shallower water (sand bars ,rocks ,edge of gutters) so 65 to 75cm seems to work best for me. Where as if I'm kite foiling out the back I'm in deeper water so 90 is fine

I have only been out once on the sup foil I think it may be my skill level with the short mast that needs adjusting more than the mast needs a just adjusting it seems to be the consensus that around 70 is probably the optimal for the waves on the sup. I appreciate the feedback regarding this and now I have a starting point

Depends on water depth. There is no way I would use any longer than 60cm in my lakes entrance.
But deeper water Iooks like the 70cm mast is most peoples favourite.

you need a FOILSLEEVE - a simple adaptor that bolts to the top of your existing tuttle and extends the mast by 150mm. Then you don't need to pay for a whole new mast - just extend the one you have for those days when you need it. FOILSLEEVE is in production now and will be available at the end of July.

Get a FOILSLEEVE and extend the mast you already have by 150mm ;-)
