Has anyone tried the Terra Boards (www.terraboards.com.au/product-category/boards/) and/or the Sk8Pole (https://www.terraboards.com.au/product-category/sk8pole/)?

Would you recommend them for a first time street SUP'r?

Looks like a Hamboard. Bit pricey for a first board but would do the job!

I made my own pole for a fraction of the cost. Then after a few weeks realised I hated it. Bit long thick dowel from Bunnings and an appropriate chair rubber stop to fit. Cut a bit off to make a handle, screw together. Rubber on. Done.

The package itself is cheap but I would prefer a shorter, more versatile board rather than a dancer. I like ldp though, and I know that isn't everyone's cup of tea. I used my pole with a gbomb subsonic illuminati board with don't trip poppy trucks.

Nice one swimarko, I think I will have a crack at making one myself and base it off the Hamboard sizing. Did to the solid wood deck hold up or would you recommend going with a plywood option?

2,8cm solid laminated spruce panel does work as you can see from the videos (i'm 85kg and my son was around 20kg). there's no flex on the board. plywood would be an option as it's layers glued horizontal you could go thinner to add some flex and weight reduction, IMO.
good luck with maling one!
