Hi All,
Looking for some advice on what would be the best board for waves anything from knee to head height, but I also do a bit of flat water paddling as well. I love the sound of the 8'6 Hypernut and have also heard some great reviews on the Sunova speeed. Happy for any other suggestions that would suit. I'm 85kgs and have a couple years experience on a SUP in the surf.
Would love to have 2 boards ideally but cant spread the budget at the moment.
Any advice would be appreciated.

The words flat water paddling and 8'6" Hyper Nut shouldn't be used in the same sentence..

That goes for the Speeed too! Well, the shorter ones anyway.

You can paddle any board on flat water if you want....but you won't go as far on a small stubby board and that spoils the fun imho.

If it was me....and you wanted one board (never lol!) then I would be looking at at 10 ft longboard shape which you can surf and flat water. But doesn't have to be a longboard shape...plenty allround shapes.

if you surf mostly get a smaller 9 5 all round shape maybe?

How long is a piece of string? There are so many boards to choose!

A few excellent allrounders I would suggest are:

Jimmy Lewis Striker 9'5"
Naish Nalu 10'6"
Sunova Surf

What about an 10' Atlantis runway? I had mine out in head high waves last week and it was awesome. Surfs small slush easy as and turns great. Can also get some toe hang time on the nose in the right surf which is awesome fun, and that's coming from a lifetime shortboard rider. I'm 95 kgs and it floats me great so you could probably go the shorter version too.
the bottom one, sorry for being on its side!!

Sunova speeed 8'10 and 9'2 would fit in your category..
so too Fanatic Allwave in 9'5 and 9'8 and ...
and..
there are so many.

but anything over 8'10 and 29" wide would suffice, IMO.
