has anyone tried these boards

Naish Nalu 11'4" x 30 x 4-1/2 180Ltr Tri Fin Wood

I guess I am worried about my weight factor 105kg and very much a novice
I would mainly be flat water coast paddling
But as skill levels increase I wouldn't mind a bit of surf

I have also been advised to go for the thruster fin setup as opposed to the single fin. any advice would be appreciated.

If anyone could comment on build quality etc as well.

Forget the 11'4 Naish. To tippy on anything other than glass and a mid volume board and not in the other board's catagories.

The 11'6 Nalu would be a good start. I'll always have one in my quiver for anyone wanting to start the sport regardless of weight, age or skill level.

The Coreban is a beauty too. I've ridden it and very much liked it.

IMO, either the older Surftech Ron House 'Laird' or the new Surftech Pearson Arrow 'Laird' 12'1 x 31 Surftech's are perfect for what your looking for although the older model tends to surf a little better than the newer one which is a bit more of a tanker.

I'd also look at the Surftech 14' Laird Coastrunner as it is magic in every way and also surf's up to knee high waves with ease but kills the flat water, river or ocean runs.

NB....I'm not on Surftech or anyone else's books.

From a newbys POV I have the Nalu 11'6" and love it. It paddles well on flat water in my limited experience and is top fun in little waves and crusing. It also serves well as a learner platform for partners and kids. I can also put my wave sails on it and go ocean cruising.
it has the naish 10.5 wood wave fin and carbon/wood paddle, great combo

Just picked up a second hand 11'6" NSP locally - Will be a great board for getting into the sport and will purchase a new shorter board later down the track.
