Hi,

Just wondering is there a significant amount of performance difference between the 2018 Hybrid Carbon and the Carbon Sandwich Allstars?

Is it worth the extra $$ for the Carbon Sandwich version?

Thanks

I'd say no.. there's not a significant difference in performance.

I've paddled some super-duper light boards and while they might accelerate slightly quicker they also decelerate slightly quicker and are often much more flexy and more fragile.

If it was me I'd save some $ and get the hybrid carbon unless money is no problem or you have a problem lifting it onto the roof of your car.

Also, often money is more efficiently spent in buying a top of the line paddle rather than shaving 1kg off the weight of the board.

I have the hybrid - do not regret it. I did agonize over this being someone that would pop the cash normally in a line-ball decision - I also went the widest 28 - faced up to the fact that at nearly 60 and a fat b@st@rd I will not be making the worlds in this lifetime.

Thanks for the feedback everyone, it was what I was thinking, not really worth the extra $$ for a very small performance difference
