Can anyone give me any feedback on sectional SUP boards like this:

Any good or total waste of time? I'm a complete beginner and want to get a board but have the transportation issue, this looks like the answer...

Waste of money!! Great idea but boards are really heavy and i could see a world of problems down the track.

There are heaps of cheap boards out there better or even go inflatable.

What is you reason on looking at a board like this? and what do you want out of a board?

How much do you weigh?

What do you want to use it for? as neither the 3 piece board or inflatable boards surf that great at all! Flat water i would choose the inflatable board any day over that other thing. You will pay more though if you go cheap on inflatable you will not be happy with what you get.

Just always way up what you want and need the board for. If its just a use every now and then board then some times the cheaper stuff is fine but just remember you get what you pay for.

I own a shop and sell boards from $599 right through to $4000 and there is a reason some boards cost more than others, in saying that from what you sound like you are going to use it for a cheap $599 board might do the job. With the cheaper boards they will be a bit heaver and can be more prone to delam and more than likely not sure that great but if you look after the board they can still last a long time. If you are on Ebay and want some thing cheap then look at the CCS ones, yes they are ours but for the money they do a good job but if you ask me are there better boards for what you want to do i will say yes and it will cost more.

I don't mind it being heavy, I can manage that, it would just be good to be able to fit it in the boot of the car as I only have a sedan. I want something stable since I'm a newby, inflatable looks good too but are they stable?

Yes the Newer inflatable boards are very good, they suck in the surf though!! they are very stable if you get the right one. We use the Fanatic 10'6 x 34 and it's a great board they retail at $1049 which is pretty standered for a good inflatable.

Doubt it's $1500 kit. At that price get a Fanatic and you know you have a good board. Be wary, no returns police is lurking!
