I don't think I will bother prone surfing my mal anymore vs standup

I find every time I take the mal out I can't breath or paddle we'll

maybe this is also a reason surfers go to stand up

Or is it just that standup is not as hard on the lungs I guess

Then again, I could very well smoke and drink too much

I definitely find stand up is easier on the body. Especially when it comes to the shoulder strain and having to constantly crane your neck with prone. I know the out of breath feeling your talking about as well and I'm not that unfit. It's more the discomfort of lying face down on a hard surface for hours on end that I think is the problem.

Yes, that is what I was asking or explaining, just lying on a board prone surfing these days proves hard on the lungs, sure I'm not fit but I find sup easy I guess on the lungs as your standing up .

not sure if it's a age thing or a health thing

Nice clean small days on the mal is great, but any size or rough conditions I might as well not go out prone I'm buggered in 5 min

with sup you upright and lungs are extended, not squashed
