I'm on a Naish 8 5 Mana, I really like the board but are thinking of a change, maybe downsizing to a Sunova Flow 8 1 as my new all rounder board (I'm a one board kind of guy). I don't have the opportunity to go out heaps so a small rather than a giant leap in skill level for a challenge is what I am after, and still have fun.

Also I recon. aesthetically, the Sunova boards look great!

Anyone know where I could try one out or purchase from in Victoria?

(featherweight - 5'6", 70kg, average skill rider)

cheers

PS sorry if this has been covered elsewhere - (direct me)

I think SHQ sell sunova boards. Rosebud and Sandringham shops.

I'm a similar size to you 5'9 and 70kg ( every inch counts at our height...). I tried both 8'1 and 7'10 Flow....admittedly I have other boards in my quiver, but I enjoyed the 7'10 much more. So I bought it. I know it says only 92 ltr but it is a flat deck and surprisingly stable.... Only marginally narrower than 8'1. There are lots of threads about the flow vs speed etc and they all say the Flow can ( and should IMO) be ridden a size smaller than you think.
Search up some of the threads to see what you think.... But I don't think the 7'10 will be too big a step for you and after a few waves on it you will be glad you went smaller....

( every inch counts at our height...) LOL, thanks Treth.

Considering the Mana is 130L which I am very comfortable on (and i'm wanting the new board to replace this rather then collect boards) I'm wondering if 7 10 would still be able to tackle 'most' waves from small mushy to head height or would it loose it's all round status? Also due to life and living in Melbourne I don't get to tackle the waves as much as I would like, therefore when I'm actually at the beach - no matter what the waves are doing I have to get out - as it maybe my only chance!

Thanks all, I'll give SHQ a call - hopefully they have a loan-a
