I am planning on bringing a very special custom board back from Dana Point in September and wanted to buy the best travel board bag on the market. Seen a few but nothing stands out from the crowd for nose, tail and rail protection, pretty much all have 10 mm foam with slightly extra reinforcement at the ends.

Any thoughts out there and past experiences on long haul transport protection and what is the ultimate bag ? .

G-Day Phil, Mate I have been using the 'Flying Objects' travel bag for the last two years and have done three OS trips with it, two through Indo with multiple flights on Garuda. I have the 8'10" roller bag and have found it to be great and would strongly recommend them to you.

I have this too... took 2 SUPsto Bali without a problem pretty easy to get around.
Although garuda must have dropped it somewhere along the way and had a board with some decent damage.

I've got the same bag, so much easier to travel with. Used it for Samoa, Maldives and a few Qld trips. 2 Sups, paddles, fishing gear, snorkelling gear. Never had a problem.

I do alwasy wrap wrap nose and tail in som high density foam too.

Same here - with additional padding using this stuff - just to be sure:

Thanks for the info guys the roller bag looks awesome just concerned that the bag will weigh more than my new Infinity B Line custom, anyone had issues with airlines and heavy bags.

Travelled with Geruda and Quantas, Singapore many times to Indo and they are great but a lot of the international airlines especially American ones are out to get us.

Any other options or is this the ultimate ?

The FO roller bag is great, I have one ...weight is the issue esp domestically restricted at 23kg.
How do people get around stuffing 2 SUPs in an 8'10 bag and throw in paddles etc ...mystery

But the Sunova bags don't have a reflective top, right?

Are the Sunova bags, single board bags or do the make them to fit a couple of boards ?

No the Sunovas don't have a reflective side and as far as I know just single board bags, could be wrong though

Correct rossal, but the material is kind of dense if that make sense, never felt the boards were overheating or something and yes single board as far as i know..
