I saw a few tips on repairing snapped carbon paddle shafts while trolling this forum but was wondering if anbody sold complete replacement shafts? Please excuse my ignorance if this is a silly idea as I am only new to this awesome sport :-)

I think there are plenty of suppliers of carbon tubing (eg www.cstcomposites.com/) and I have thought of replacing rather than repairing, but I think it costs around $80 a metre so I've gone with repairing shafts so far.

If you do decide to replace your shaft let us know how it works out.

Most paddle makers sell replacement shafts.

Most "good" kayak stores will have shafts, however they generally are not tapered like SUP paddle shafts so won't feel quite the same and you may need a larger diameter t-grip (or bulk it up a bit). Best to also buy the stiffest shaft you can find as kayak paddle shafts tend to have a lot more flex than a SUP shafts.
