Hi im after some info i have the choice of a starboard ace 14 x 25 2013 model in carbon.
or a 2014 sprint 14 x 26. these boards will be mainly used for low chop ie a flat water race board im 98 kgs the sprint board will not be in carbon.
any help please the local starboard dealer does not have the 14 x 26 on demo and have had a demo on the ace 14 x 23.5

They make the sprint in non carbon? Seems crazy being a dedicated flat water race board u would want it light as possible

Yeah they only made the Ace in carbon for the first time this year. The Sprint is available in the non-carbon, which does seem strange. Then again, Starboard's non-carbon race boards are getting very light too.

when you look at the starboard web site and check the weights i think there is less than 2 kgs between the carbon and glass sprint but i can get the glass for ?1400 and the carbon is ?2200 is 2kgs worth ?800

That's a good point and so true the non carbon 2014 starbys are bloody light! Can see why they have gone to only carbon in the ace as that volume be crazy to try handle that out of the water much.. Even in the water to heavy.

I have a Sprint14x26 carbon and love it. One of the major beefits of the carbon besides the weight is the stifness. A glass board maybe only 2kg heavier but also less stiff so loss of power in the strokes.
The Allstar14 isnt a dedicated flatwater board, but still surprisingly fast and very close to the sprint+ a lot easier in the buoy turns.

Could do with someone who has tried the ace 14x25 and sprint 14x26 to see what is more astable as I'm not able to demo either board and if any one around 95 to 100 kgs has got either board but trying to drop down to 90kgs for next season.

Cheers Dean
