what prcent flat versus ocean?

There's three stand out 12'6" boards IMO.

The Naish.. (of corse ) .. also the Fanatic.. and the Walk on Water board?

go see the crew at Roar industries. they paddle the area everyday.
and they have a tonne of good flatwater boards to try.

if mostly flat go a 27.5 or narrower just for the flat water prrformance. Roar would be able to demo u different boards. go see steveo he will sort u out.

there r heaps of good 12'6 as mentioned above. cant go wrong. i would suggest u push urself width wise to avoid an upgrade in 3 months :)

Flat water and downwind board are a little difference.

Flat water race have a zero rocket, the edge of the board into the water.
Downwind boards are different, the rocket is positive (like a surfboard) and a little more wide, around 28" to 29".

If you want just race in flat, 27 is fine, but in DW you will be in trouble.

The Bullet is the best open ocean board in the world, whether to race or dw.

Four days ago you were asking about going towards a Bullet or the Hobie and now you already know the Bullet is "The Best Open Ocean Board in The World"...

Kickels, some brands changed their designs for 2013's boards designing boards that are a bit slower on flat water but much more versatile so you can have fun DWing with them too. Another great design change is that with 2013 shapes you can go narrower without loosing so much stability.

I'd suggest to test the Fanatic Falcon and the Starboard All Star, the 27'' version of both, they're fast boards that surf well and really fun DW boards with good stability.

If you want to go 2nd hand i guess you'll find some Fanatic Race Fly over there, but that bow shape isn't the best for DW. The same goes for the Bark and all those boards with that kind of bow shaped nose.

Maybe you can find an used "old" Hobie Elite that's a good allrounder too.

Coque is different discussion, I'm looking to buy a new sup to paddle in any situations, and the Bullet show up the best option for it FOR ME.

If you research in DW, 90% of the SUP,s is Sic Bullet 14 to 17, with another brand logos, and you will able to see in the race also.


The best or not, is my opnion, like your opnion about the Fanatic. I just do not agree...

kickels many do a no interest finance thingy. not bad if ur a budgeter and can get the thing paid of before the no interest runs out.
