For sure Hilly.

Is anyone on a different board now to what they were on 12 months ago?

Probably a better question is anyone NOT on a different board

I am about to get on my third

i've had 2 boards

is that this week, or that you HAVEN'T reviewed....

started almost 12 months ago myself. First board was a 10'7" Takayarma by surftech. Awesome for its length and only 27 1/4 wide, surfed really well (once I learn't how to surf!). Just got a Chris Garett 9'8", was ment to be a 9'4" but thats another story.....NO MISTAKE MADE BY CHRIS GARRETT. Surfed it 4 times and loving it. About to add another to the line up, Chris Garret 9.0

Still on my original Quickblade, but have been eyeing of the new C4 paddles.....mmmmm nice

A question, are quads the future for Sups???

are you some kind of cop serge. i did that for fun. you seem intent on making some sort of issue with me. i'm not interested in your motives, agenda or snide remarks or accusation type questions or whoever is feeding you your lines(referring to malfunction race) especially from a person who has only surfed for a year. i would have thought a person who was making big statements about downwind designs would have had a couple dw racing boards in his name. you have managed to pi## off a lot of people on the goldie. i have also received pm's asking me what the go is with your attacks.i have some had support for what i do and i realize not everyone is going to like it, but you my friend are just plain nasty. if i have to facing this negative stuff from you, i'm not going to bother with the forum
cheers

Wow, touchy mate, reason to be????

You are well within your, or any right, to have as many boards and set ups as you like. All that really matters is that you enjoy yourself. Remember this though, as in everything in life if you speak your mind, someone somewhere wont agree or like what you saying. This is a public forum, and open to all views, as long as they aren't crude or vulgar. Im quite happy to speak my mind and stand by it. What is hard to take from you is, every board you review seems to be the best, and shortly after (alot of the time) you decide the board isnt..... not only that, they are reviewed after only a hour or 2 in average surf. Fair enough you cant change the conditons, but maybe give the board and yourself a chance to gel.

what does me only surfing for a year have to do with downwind boards and discussion there of? oh is it that I have no experience??? how long have you been doing it and ocean paddling that makes you the expert??? does it really matter...just another pissing contest.

As for agendas, motives and people feeding me lines..... haha I'm no pupet, and have more invested in life than to spend time plotting and planing a pot stir on the internet.....

regarding downwind boards, hmmm well can we not discuss different boards and different views on these boards. See alot of the time we are only hearing about one brand or a small group of people.....not really a broad spectrum to look at and make different conclusions from. If I have pissed people off that is their choice. Maybe I have had some bad service from someone that has been put up on a pedestal here. And maybe others have had bad service from the same person......maybe that gives them the gilts and then feel like they are being attacked.....and maybe when people discuss other boards they arent attacking they are DISCUSSING....not only one option for boards and board makers out there.

now if Im the only one having a litte dig at you and thats going to make you leave this forum, I think you need to, A, read more as I'm not the only one and B, revaluate how important the internet and froums like this really are in the big sceme of things

if you think im attacking or full of **** we can lay all the cards on the table for all to see and see whats what.....will that really achieve anything?

Pm's and red/green thumbs..... its a public forum, say what you feel (keep it clean, women and children do read as well) if people have a problem with what I'm saying, discuss it further. Pming each other only builds tension and one side of the story. For all the "talk" Ive created, you are the first to say something....which I appluad you for.

I dont really think this is the place for these posts.... but you commented and brought other thread points here so I responded. If someone wants to move them to another thats fine.

fair enough, i just got the feeling every time i say something, it's seems to be a negative. i must say, i mostly just post a board- photos and dimensions, nothing else. i get asked how they go. most board these days go well. as you say it takes time to see what they are really like, but i will give my first impressions. also i get asked to try a couple of boards and if i like them after a surf i will say something, if don't i wont say anything. my blue 8'8 is still my best board, the yellow one likes bigger waves. serge, i think what you have done in a year from zero on a standup board to now is quite remarkable. i invite you to try some dw boards if you are interested. one thing i learnt very quickly is even though this is a public forum, peoples livelihoods are at stake so righting off a board or brand shouldn't be on the spur of a moment thing imo. anyway, thats that sorted
cheers
ps i'm far from an expert dw er, but love doing it and the design part is addictive

exactly, if some one reads, and has an opinon either way, maybe they should explain it vurbally rather than cheer leading. if they cant be bothered its not really worth giving a positive or negative suport

the best forums im on have no post counts and no cheer leading ability....it culls the egos to an extent

It has something to do with me mentioning makaha and the very touchy word (pioneer ) for sure.
