Hey Guys
I am new to this forum but have found it to be very informative and funny. On a recent trip to Noosa I hired a sup and surfed little cove at knee to waist height. I had such a blast I did it for the next 2 days and didn't touch my mal. So I have to have one now it was so much fun. After reading heaps of reviews and talking to guys who have them I have narrowed it down to 2 boards the 10'6" waa PSH and the 10'8" Jimmy Lewis. I weigh about 85kgs and want to use the board for both flat water and surf. Any comments either way would be appreciated.

Just got in from a 3 hour session on the PSH 10'6 waa. Awesome board, had mine 6 months and love it. Have not surfed a Jimmy but can highly recommend the 10'6 wide.

both good boards and popular on this forum especially psh.

i'm about 8kgs chunky than u and use the jimmy lewis 10'4... very well built boards, great in small to medium waves, it's just ok on flat water, goes good on glass but any plank is going to feel good on the oil slick.

All depends how your going to split your time between the flats and the waves, if u were leaning towards jimmy and wanted to spend more time on the flats go 10'8 if your more wave orientated look at the 10'4 or even the 10.

Had the PSH 10 6 AA(not WAA) and the JL 10 8 both fantastic boards.

PSH tend to have a more 'shortboard' feel to them than the JL surf range. New JL shredder range is a different kettle of fish. I prefer the feel of the PSH on a wave due to the relatively narrow nose. Demo if you can but it comes down to what feel you want.

At your weight you could go smaller but only if you want surf performance, for cruising and learning 10 6 is a great size.

Enjoy

I purchased the 9'6WAA i did look into the 10'6waa but decided on the smaller board because of recomendations.

Bit then i live next to the beach and my flat water work will consist of 10 percent at most.

I feel after much investigation you should go the same road and get the 9'6waa

Same stability in both boards but the shorter will surf better

Im 85kgs of pure kiwi sheep shagging expert at all master of none

I ride PSH to make me a better person

JL has a straighter rocker "feel" when surfing it compared to the PSH.

PSH is more responsive moving up and down the deck.
