Todays race was hard and lonnnnnnngg not much wind but the pace was on!!! Jacko got 4th again and is just hanging on to 3rd overall Jake finished 2nd today, I finished 2nd and Sim 3rd.

The guys pace was crazy again averaging 10km per hour and then for the last 5km they all sprinted at 11.5km per hour this is against a current as well!!

One more day to go and only 30km tomorrow, It has been a super fun trip but the racing is sooooo loooonnnnggggg and the body takes a flogging but well worth doing at least once!!!

4 seconds between first and second in the Solo Mens as it has more or less been at the end of each day. When do Bart and Ryan stop drafting each other and start racing?

Brutal is all i have to say about the last 5 days! Stoked for myself and sim, she was a power machine on the last day.
The first 2 days i pushed to hard and it blew me out a fair bit.

All the 3 girls, ann maree, sim & myself had a blast everyday battling it out. It was very strange to see us 3 girls go thru go days and then bad days, crazy to see how the mind and body can work.

Got to give massive credit to everyone that crossed that finish line! It was def the hardest race ive ever done. Pretty much everyday was headwinds from 20knots - 40knots!! INSANE on the body.

Jacko was sitting sweet for 3rd until the last 5km sprint! To get knocked off by only a few seconds. The top 6 guys were doing 11.5km per hour at the end of everyday! that's after paddling 40km's and sprinting the last 5km! Crazy buggers.

Young jake did super!! Finishing 2nd on day 4 after the poor bugger got hyperthermia on day 3! NO JOKE

See everyone in california. We are taking a good rest the next few days and looking forward to the sunshine in cali.

thanks for all your lovely words.

I've enjoyed reading your day by day account and really admire how all of you have represented Australian paddling.

A big congrats. Enjoy your brief break before the next leg.

great effort everyone. i wonder if it is the sort of race you would only do once because you wouldn't do that to yourself again?

Ang / Jacko. Were you happy with the Fanatics? What were the others paddling - seems like 14 footers all round?
