Has anyone had their leash plug or pin give out on a downwind run.

Seems to me thats a small part doing a lot of work on a big board and if your on a DW its usually not gonna be as simple as a short swim for your board if there's a decent wind behind you.

I was thinking of installing a second plug for a bit of insurance.... Waste of time or not?...Any thoughts?

Yeah.. I think it's a waste of time.

I've been asking around about failing leash plugs and it seems to be a very rare thing these days.

That wasn't a leash plug issue.. That was a leash issue..

It was only an issue because some dumb arse took the rail saver off and replaced it with a plastic hook.. Using bungee cord to tie it with was the real issue..
