Hunt the whites that attack humans down. Just like we hunt our own if someone is murdered, .

Capitol punishment doesn't exist in this country!!

I didn't say we hunt humans down and kill them, but we punish them and rehabilitate if possible. We can't punish rogue sharks. I agree that there are many ways we can die and obviously some much more common than others, however I still think a shark that attacks a human should be persued. In sth California the same shark attacked more than once before it was stopped. The tiger shark that attacked that young girl surfer (took her arm) harrassed surfers for weeks prior and post the tradgic event. The same coconut can't fall on someone twice. Remember this is just my opinion.

Sick of the debate, everytime some poor sole is taken,we hear the same old crap,kill/hunt the thing or we are in their space, cop it on the chin!

Well,I've played in the ocean for years, like a duck out of water compared to marine life! They are living the only life they know, the old food chain! The smaller ones get eaten by the bigger ones, just like us,the bigger / stronger you are the better chance you have in winning the fight, but we have laws thank god!So how about this? If a shark takes a life, catch it and put it behind bars (seaworld shark tank)see how it goes and let it go just as our system works!

The "rouge" Tiger shark that ripped Bethany Hamilton's arm off, was hunted down and destroyed This beast had attacked and stalked surfers around were she was surfing in Hawaii for months, It was decided this stalker had to be dealt with, as Hawaii is a surfing and ocean going place for many, many humans one or the other had to go.

There was probably 100s of other Tigers around that were hunting there natural food and one rouge that hunted humans The others are probably still swimming around today The one that was hunting humans has gone

HeyToadwhispera,NAH life is to short to be serious, this forum is an outlet.
I agree with Brooka comments,re-rouge shark and i know the story on Bethany!

BTW Brooko Iam in Hawaii now, third time in three years.

Toadwhispera,no i dont own a SUP,but iam riding a Ron House 12 and a 11 footer,
i ran into some rocks the other day and the old 12 footer is in the repair shop and not looking to good, busted the fin box out of the board, fin broken in half and huge holes in the bottom of the board, the guy said around 250US to fix,so my mate is NOT to happy with me at the moment, but if he wants to stay at my house next year he will forgive!

Bethany Hamilton is her name. Thats who I was talking about. I saw her show on Foxtel a few time. Pretty interesting story. They had to get permission from the local hawaiian legend guy to hunt the shark. It is an inspirational story about fight and determination. Tough little girl!

Problem is as we are absolutely raping the ocean of its fish and other wonderful creatures that are just wasted by products of the fishing industry then we protect the mighty Great White who has to travel further to find its prey and may not be so fussy if its hungry.
I say Great Whites eat to much especially surfers and seals.
If we got rid of the big fat buggers we would be allot safer not to mention the fishing would be good and we could even bring back sealing (hell I miss sealing). I would like the chance to send our mate roger in the UK a nice warm baby seal coat.
What!!!!! cant see anything wrong with that.

The classic thing about this whole story is what they didn't say in the article!

The guys in the kayaks were fishing, yeh, fishing 1k off-shore in kayaks!!
Funny that they left that little piece of information out!

I can think of plenty of ways to get a shark to come up and say g'day and the outer reefs at Longy with some bloody fish hanging of your line would be one of the best. Then falling off your Kayak would also bump up the odds.

When it comes to natural selection its probably a shame this one didn't play out!

Now I understand why people like to SUP with their dogs. Shark turns up! Dog gets the boot and you paddle like hell. The perfect decoy.
Now all I have to do is talk my neighbours into letting me take their yapping mutt supping.
Perfect!!!
