Just got in from a session in 2ft slop with 7 other people out on subs Im glad robdog and I got it good last week Cause I had a shocker today! I caught some good waves and did some nice turns, but fell off heaps paddeling today.

The surf was small and onshore, but plenty of lumpy sidechop, I still had the small fins in and dont know if that was making it less stable to paddle One of those days if I had an axe.

Hopefully tomorrow is good, I want some glass

Brooko,
Been a newbie to this surfing / SUP capper I reckon this morning was a hoot.

I had a crack at Nelson river mouth on the way home, toooo good for me but had fun.

When I got back to my local kiting spot the guys told me there were 4 SUPing at a local break. (pebbles / mokes). Jesus this sport is really starting to take off.

Won't be able to make AMOS tomorrow morning, one of the local surfers wants to have a go so I'll do some PR and take him out for awhile.

Yeah sometimes you wish for two boards one for onshore slop and one for glassy perfection ! then maybe even another for really small stuff, a big Tanker! where does it end (need to win lotto)

Yeah Toad It was tanker morning for sure, I would so love a quiver of sups, just like my normal surf boards, a board for every condition.

Ian , was nelson river mth working ? been keen to hit that place up a fair bit lately!

I think robdog and I are hitting up this reef break around the other side, meant to be real heavy on a normal board when its large, keen to check it out on a smaller day on the 9 6" tomorrow

Brooko, (Nelson River mouth)
Yesterday there was a left hander about 3ft and working ok. Today it was pretty sh1t with the 12 knot onshore wind.
I'm going to hit the river mouth tomorrow morning at day break and hopefully before the wind gets up to see how good it is. I will let you know.

My wife was that impressed with the Portland fairer sex ripping it yesterday she and my daughter both had a go in the river today. I wish I had a camera so I could of shown you Grandma paddling up the river proud as punch with the grand kids up front on the 12 6 Starboard Crusier.

It looked great all those janitors or silver surfers, as my wife fondly calls us, out on the one break enjoying the small clean waves in the sunshine.

I was talking to a visiting mal rider at my local wave yesterday and he commented that he was at Portland / Bridgy last weekend catching a wave next to a group of SUP riders, when I told him I was one of those riders he started to quiz me about the sport.
I told him he can have a go on my SUP when I finished if he wanted. He actually hung around for 1 1/2 hours for a ride. Like all of us when learning he spent more time in the water than on the board but was stoked. Another convert I reckon

Brooko, just got your message, how did your sess this arvo go?
I will be here all day tomorrow, day break SUP and kiting when the wind swings.

Had a ball Ian, it was a bit windy but some good size fast waves coming through Even paddled 1k out to sea to check on 2 chicks caught in a rip (thought it was going to be my first rescue) I was bit tired from the good session we got the arvo before.

We need some big swells to clean up the banks a bit, there getting a bit to straight
