Went out at Sandtracks this morning and caught my first SUP waves! 2 foot baby waves, but fantastic feeling.
I have been practicing on the river for a couple of weeks getting my stroke and balance right. Can't wait to get back out with a longer ride and slightly bigger waves

Question - do you try and get your paddle shaft as vertical as possible thru-out the stroke ie - bringing your top hand further over the blade, rather than the top hand being over the middle of the board?

When I tried this I had to lean out the side more, but it felt more powerful.
