Having to rinse out my wetty after my little encounter this morning , a less than average crew out the alley around 8 this morning with less than average waves,
was paddling alone towards Laceys when I saw a familiar Silhouette in the clear water so I decided to paddle over to have a look and I S--- you not was this Juvenile white shark just slowly swimming along and unfortunately decided he wanted to look at me, the thing doubled back behind me and I promptly dropped to my knees , not praying because I dont believe in God LoL and cruised right past my board with its dorsal fin out of the water, its bullet shape , scarred fin and general not giving a fark about anything attitude as it slowly swam past had me
passing bricks,

It started swimming over towards a longboarder and I yelled out to him Shark!he kind of looked at me as if, what you wanking on about ? but promptly went into panic mode when the shadow went under him, A surf school was floundering in the creek mouth not far away and I was yelling at them to go in but noone seemed to understand what was happening,

The thing made a beeline out towards sea but I wasnt going to chase after it so I just started paddling along the surf line warning everyone with another guy on a SUP but incredibly the malaise from everyone about it amazed me like I was trying to trick em LoL

The surf school and everyone stayed out there, LoL ,I went in.

I grew up surfing in South Oz with plenty of visits to the West Coast and even was stupid enough to go spear fishing at Cactus as well as having gone on one of Rodney Fox,s shark expeditions to Neptune Island so I know what a White Shark looks like , a buzz but a scare at the same time, big or small you dont mess with them.

I saw you run down and tell Bevo the Life Guard (jet Ski)...I was thinking whats he up to that bloke ??..then you were gesturing and pointing out around the mouth and I was on to ya !! haha ....mmmm that bloke has just seen a shark ....the Surf school all came in very soon after that, hehe ! Jacko was saying there was another Man in the grey suit spotted in the creek too so maybe the Dredging is stirring them up.

Was wondering who to report it too , saw the VMR building but they should put a big landline number not just a VHF number on the wall , luckily saw Bevo fire up the ski so let him know, most people in the water didnt want to know, figure Hey?
As for the Bulletin, headline press about a maneater off the coast is just the paranoia we dont need even if it would thin the crowds, we all know the things are there we just generally dont see em, I am totally against the Drum Lines and nets by the way, those baited hooks attract the Sharks from out deep and most of the netted sharks are caught on the inside of the nets.

You let the life guards know thats enough , yeah the bully would have a field day with it , i slap myself in the head every time i pay a dollar for it

A couple of weeks ago I had a 2.5m Noah's ark do a bolt under my paddle board as I rounded the southern side of Wave Break in front of the seaway in the Broadwater, had me a bit nervous for a few minutes' but I think I gave him as big a fright as he gave me as I passed over him on my 14' Glide.
