Welcome Bill , I was in your neck of the woods with my family in August last year. Always loved Haleiwa especially the Surf & Sea shop absolute classic....so when are we going to see some of these Hull Rippers ? would love to jump on one

Welcome Bill ..... nah mate that was my daughter as we where in Hawaii for the Haliewa Joe race ,and hoping to be back again this year for the race.

Did you do the race last yr?

Oh okay, that was your daughter Boylos, that pic cracked me up! Nah, I missed that race because I traveled quite a bit last summer. But I def plan on doing more this coming summer, especially the NS races like Haleiwa Joes, SurfnSea, Da Hui, etc.

Are you coming back again?

I hope that happens one day for you sepirott! It really is one of the most amazing places to paddle! Even on flat or small days are fun with tons of coastline, harbors and rivers to explore.

As for our Warriors bowl game?.....UGGG!!! F%$#%C#%K!!!..........LOL.......not sure what happened to us? Not to take anything away from Tulsa, but we just didnt play up to our potential. Oh well next year as they say!.

BTW-do many Australians follow American collage football?.....or Professional teams?

Yeh mate for sure I'll be there this year ,as long as I get my holidays which I should know within the next month .
As I work for Qantas Airways we go to Hawaii every yr around this time ,and my mate who comes in from Seattle is keen to do the race this yr as well.

Really enjoyed it last yr , and looking forward to this years race ..... it was the biggest amount of entry's last yr and I wouldn't be surprised if this year is bigger!

Hopefully catch up with yah at the race if your around.

What board do you use for downwinders ? I have the C4 Vortice XP.

Cool, I will be around and look forward to meeting you! I was bummed I pretty much missed every race last summer due travel I was doing another company. As for race boards, I never got heavy in to but would like to this summer. I am more of a surf first and casual downwinder for fun in summer months. Of the boards I have used I really liked the F16 and just for fun, my old Munoz 12 is surprisingly fast.

to answer your question, not to many Aussies follow the College Football but the NFL is more popular. I am a Seminoles fan in the College and Dolphins in the NFL as I was originally from Miami here in Australia. My Boss is from Hawaii and is a Raiders fan as well, crazy. He has told me all about the out of the way surf spots there and I am keen to hit them on a Sup and my mal. Always loved a bit of size and it looks soooo inviting the water. Not much into crowds though so the North Shore would be a visit only I think.
