I was at RPS (the board store) in Melbourne yesterday and saw the new smaller Starboard for the first time...It looked great.

It's still a big board (11'x30") but looked small standing next to the original Starboard...I guess it was the 'Ultimate Blend' board
..I just found the new 08 site.. http://www.star-board-sup.com/ ..and just noticed the new 'Extremists' fish style boards...they also look great.

Has anyone given any of them a go yet?

Hey DJ
Im hoping to try the 11'2 out soon. Ive tried the 12'6 and really really liked it but Im kinda reluctant to buy such a big board even though it will be my first SUP board. I wanna try them both out together so i can see the difference. Both I think are 30 wide which I think is the majic number for SUP surfing but the length is important to me. I think they look sweet.
Ive had the Naish 11' out in surf and found it fun but too unstable for me being first time SUPing in waves.
I also think the Starboard fish SUP board looks pretty damn sick too. I think that could be a board for me once I turn pro-SUP surfer

I have put all my feedback on the 11'2 review in this section - the 11'2 is only just hitting the market now so it will be a while before you read "non industry" reviews- but i am quite confident that they will be very very favourable.

i am rapt with the 11'2 for its surfing performance- had YET another awesome sessiona t cables on new years day - got tons of rights on a day when very few people had any surfing joy in town.

- only thing is - these have nearly sold out now at a wholesale level - i believe there will be a shortage of 11'2s in the market soon.

I am still super happy with the 12'6 - which has better glide than the 11'2 an surfability in the same ball park - really quite good for such an easy paddling board.

There is also a 12 footer which rides very nicely

9'8 and 9'0 extremsits dont hit the market for a little while yet so cant really comment on these at this point in time. Based on my quick go on the 9'8 it didnt hold a paddling line very well - but seemed to up the surfing ante even more.

notably none of the above mentioned boards are narrower than 30 inches - it really is the "magic number"
