Well i have finally got around to finishing my board off. its 8'8 x29 1/2 x 3 3/4 , weighted in at 7.3kg with fins and grip , LAYUP - 6+4oz +patch over fins on bottom , 2x6oz and patch 4 on the top , with full rail wraps on a VH grade EPS. i have only had one ride in a very average 2ft slop with a 8kn NE , it was quite stable (iam 70kg ) slighlty better than 9,3 naish, it paddled quite well and planed early onto a wave once on the moove, it felt light to turn and ride but as i said didnt have much of a wave to cut loose on. All in all a bit of work but alot of satisfaction at the end .

Wow! If you looked at some of those pics without knowing it was a SUP, you could be forgiven for thinking it was a shortboard (except the deck grip and graphics give it away).

Looks like one sick stick!

very nice looking board - your side-bites look they have extreme toe-in, hope it's going to go! If board is too loose and lacks drive you might want to straighten them out a bit - will speed up board as well

Hey Dan
i just routered the handle in last then glassed in and finished with filler coat but maybe next time i would router first with small radius on edges then glass in sand back edges the n glass over when doing board and fold glass into handle or cut out and sand smooth. PM me if u llike and i can give u my mobile as there are a few things i learnt different from doing PU boards that may save u time. Side fins were from shapers cant rememeber name but about 85mm and DG 6.5' cutaway at rear

Yeh lacey maybe not mate on my 9'3 i slipped off the front a few times so i thought i would run it up a bit plus mate i really got into the groove of things putting the grip on once i figured out what design i was going to do -workin out the design is the hardest bit i reckon.

Looks like a fun board, but I have to agree with Peter. Those fins looks like they angle in heaps or is it just the pic

I angled them to centre of nose or fraction off to side?

short board side fins normally run about 1.5 iches of the nose on eitherside , i imagian sups would be about the same .
brad looks like you put some effect into this board im sure it will go good ; hey did you buy your glass and stuff of fgi or shapers .com hey im thinking of doing one 6oz bottom with patches for fins and 2 times 6oz deck ?

I got lazy and just got everything from shapers except foam, charged around $6 or $6.50 /m glass not sure if was S glass or not but had some dirty marks and wasnt folded very well . Good service from shapers though. You can go light 1 x6 is okay but not as durable its up to you. Dean has 1x6oz on bottom.

Yeah great looking grip , I like the bit in the handle. 3-3/4 thick not for us fatties the board should rock nice high performance design.
