Dear all,

First off merry Christmas!

I wondered what the best way to wash your
board is without dropping it.

I managed quite well today then a rogue gust
of wind meant I clipped the side of the rail and now my 3 day old paddleboard has its first scratch
😭.

I know scratches are inevitable but its still annoying!

Also with a light scratch any ideas on how to remove this?

Many Thanks

Tracy

The Chux Magic Eraser.. http://www.chux.com.au/the-chux-range/chux-magic-eraser-range/magic-eraser-bathroom/index.html

Get them in the kitchen cleaners isle at your local supermarket.

I wash my boards after each time I use them.. Even boards that are about a year old still look like new.

There is no real need to wash your boards... just like there is no need to wash your car..

Hi Taylorvillas,
Put it this way... how would you feel after a few days in salt water without showering??? Just one idea anyway.

I am with DJ, a wash after every day of use... salt water gets crusty after a while and I am a creature of habit. I am lucky in living close to the beach so off load my SUP and paddle onto the grass, wash the board down (with either a coffee or beer of course) and also have an outdoor shower myself.

Rather than wash the board, wipe it down after use with a chamois cloth. It dries the board and get's it clean at the same time.

I use the damp chamois on all my stuff (boards, kites on the leading edge and struts, paraglider harness and bag). It all looks new after several years of hard use.

BTW To wash yourself down, take a 5 litre water container full of hot water and wrap it in your towel. (The water will stay warm for 8 hours and be tepid after 24 hours.) After the session wash yourself down with the water and dry yourself with the warm towel.

if you don't wash the salt of your sups you and up with a rust ridden car like i've got.

drips straight of the board on to your car.

cost me money to get half baked repairs done. hope it last a bit long before moving on.

i now wash my boards off most times

If it's deep it won't get rid of it but it will look a lot better.. If its a light scratch you will be amazed at what these erasers can do.

To wash your saltwater board in fresh water is SACRILEGE your board was made for saltwater only. To wash your board in fresh water is BAD KARMA only KOOKS wash a saltwater board in freshwater.

I've never wash my SUP either in freshwater, if the rudder cables rust. I just replace the cables.

Yep the only time I wash my BIG RED Truck is when it rains once or twice a year ( sounds like hard work ) Yep the paint job looks like s##t as its never been polished. And my BIG RED Truck is 13 years old. And has NO RUST? I'd like to thank and thats a BIG THANKS to the bloke who invented Electro Rush best $500 dollars I've ever spent. And my BIG RED truck is at the beach everyday all day.
