why not? 12.6, 14 and unlimited are only class length restrictions.....
Now forget the 14 and UL, but if BOP takes off here, I can see an advantage to boards under 12.6 for getting in and out of the surf. Im sure if things got big enough the pros may bring a few different boards to suit different conditions...there may be the day where the outer cans arnt much clear of breaking surf, so board length for speed may not be the biggest decider...
