Has anyone riden (or seen riden) this nice little creation from Al Merrick?

/images/misc/forum-image-missing.gif

Here's what the CI website says about it:

The Stand -Up Fish is a result of Al and Rob's collaboration and testing over the last several months. Not only is this board a fast and stable paddler, it is easier to surf than any other stand-up board on the market. The SUB Fish is designed for spending time in the surf rather than distance paddling.

Comes standard with a Swallow Tail, quad setup with center box, and is available in the following sizes :

9'0 X 27-29 X 4-4 ?
10'0 X 28-30 X 4-4 ?
11'0 X 28-30 X 4-4 ?

Hi casso

Yes ive seen this board ridden by rob himself in the fish and a rounded pin version.

The board looked awesome and looked like it rode very well which i guess isnt to hard to imagine with someone of robs style and surfing prowess. But then he gave it to a friend who had only paddled a couple of times and he had a blast as well!

The board looked very loose and rode well in the sucky conditions.

This board as been around for quite a while but im not sure about availability in oz.

It must be through insights/ CI board shop in warriewood /sydney called 'on board'

If you look on the CI website there is some footage.

If your looking at shorter fish boards, id def have a look at the naish fish and see how they compare

Thanks Sandy. A first hand recount of Rob riding it - wow, lucky you. I am after the 9 footer so that's great feedback.

I have riden the Naish fish, and loved it. A new shortboard SUP is going to max out my available funds (plus some), so I want to be totally sure I get the right board for me.

On Board is just 2 mins down the road from me and they have one there - it looks great but looks and performance don't always match. Not sure if they'll let me demo it either.
