Will be in Chritchurch early August for a week before hitting the snowfields. (Staying in the Brighton area).

Anyone been to CC or are there kiwi's on the forum that might be able to tell me where I can hire a SUP / kite surfers for a few days? Even better, let me borrow your board for a few days hic hic?[}:)]

If I may jump on your topic Ian... Its kinda related. I've also been checking out the snow reports and was wondering what the situation was on lake Wakatipu in Queenstown. Would it be good to SUP on? Can you hire boarsd round there?

I'm from down that way ,and I'm not sure if they have SUP'S in Queenstown .... but one thing I can tell you is that 's its minus over night and lucky to get to 5 degress in the winter not real Sup conditions as lake Wakatipu is bloody cold it's not that warm in the summer!
You would get a great downwinder as the wind rips though there !

Regarding CHCH , i can't help you there as I don't know any surf shops that have SUPS , but try the Brighton mall I pretty sure there a couple of surf shops there.
There's plenty of beach to paddle on and the surf is ok at times .... But cold! so take a full wetsuit,booties and head gear!
