I got a little damaged after the easter break and decided to do a few repairs on my board and sit the w/e out despite the great conditions we're enjoying here.

I've had a couple of very minor dings that I've manged to patch up, pretty well in an hour or so. In the past couple of months I've noticed a weak spot on my board, on the right hand rail. There must have been some pinholes where the wood joins the foam, as the wood in this area has darkened.

I've had a go at trying to fix the issue previously, but my attempts were a bit half arsed. Today I decided I'd solve the issue, by sanding the black spot from the wood and then re-painting, glassing and sanding.

It was very interesting going through all the layers of resin, fiberglass, paint, wood and foam. I think it's all going to turn out fine.

I have to say that repairing/maintaining my board today felt as satisfying as riding it in the surf last w/e.

Oh may be that's not quite right - I just watched Jarrod ripping it at Pt Roadknight - wow!
