you might get a kick out of this dj. we were showing a few guys how to dw( well to the best of my abilities). when we finished, i said now go back and watch dj's vids and pretend its you paddling and start imagining when you would 'hit it' to get those trough/bumps
cheers
Thanks Mark.. I do get a kick out of knowing that.. and it's nice to know some people like to watch them and get something out of them..

.. I watch them myself and see what I do wrong and I'm sure that I let a lot of good ones slip by because this old 54 yr old body isn't fit enough to put in when it's needed.. or just a little lazy..

I'm no expert and learning all the time.. There's no doubt that the more you do them the better you get and I think one of the most important things is reading the water ahead and having patience.. Knowing when to go hard and when back off and wait for the right moment to go hard.. You learn to know what you can't get and not even try.. This saves your energy so you can really put in when you need to.. Also.. it's not about trying to catch the big ones.. but slot in behind them.
I now have a HD GoPro and soon hope to get even better DW footage that wont be so fuzzy.. I'm also going to try a chest mount and see how that angle looks hoping it may be a more natural point of view.
