Just wondering if anyone on the Gold Coast is going for a downwinder this long weekend?
didn't really turn out good for it. i just paddled to tugun surf club and back to the alley. pleasant, some big swells pushing in,a bit of a ride on the backside of them. no real runners. lucky for me the wind dropped off at the alley.i paddled wide of the alley classic comp and snagged a wave in.
i'm thinking of doing a regular paddle like this on sundays if anyone is interested.
depends on conditions whether it happens- that would also dictate how far upwind i/we paddle. this time of year is good for it. you never know, the wind could blow up for the return trip
a bit of upwind paddling is good- toughens you up
