I was going to drill into the deck of both of my Glides and fit leash plugs so I can carry stuff on my boards...untill I saw these new stick on E-Z Plugs.

There's no need to drill into my boards now.. .. and they're only about $6 each.. http://www.surfcohawaii.com/ProductDetails.asp?ProductCode=A-EZPLUGFLEX

DJ, did you bring those in from Hawaii? If so, what did they charge you for shipping?

I saw something similar on Nicks glide last wee, but I am sure he had to epoxy them on the board. These sounds good as they use the 3M glue......Ronnie

They are the same things they use with the stick on carry handles. Mine broke but what your usung them for won't put any strain on them.

Simple solution DJ and your boards will still be perfect come re-sale time!

I got them from SHQ here in Melbourne.. and Nic got his there also.

They sell out quick and they always seem to be waiting for the next lot to come in.

BTW.. The instructions say that you need to sand the paint off (they give you a small piece of sand paper in the pack).. and they say you need to prep the surface with the sash'e (wet towel that also comes with it).

Anyway.. If you are going to use it as a leash plug and it's a crappy old board.. That would be a good idea so it sticks to a good clean surface.. and a leash is going to be pulling with a lot of force.

If you are just using it to tie stuff onto the deck of your board and your board is in good condition you just need to use the wet towel thingie (it smells like nail polish remover).. or just use windex.

It is a 3M peel off sticky back so it should stick well.

I definately wouldn't use it as a leash plug.
Mine broke literally using it as a carry handle and the board is the 10'4" Jimmy Lewis which feels well under 10kg.

DJ's idea to hold stuff down would work fine though.

Also that magic wet towel that they come with is amazing. I had to remove grip to put them on and it removed
all the sticky glue residue that the deck pad left within 30 seconds. Good stuff!

Make sure you use the little wet towel that comes with the plugs. I was told it is some kind of accelerator to make it stick better. This came from a guy who installed many of those plugs.

Aloha

2 months ago. So far so good.
